Grimm's Dirty Laundry: A Collection of Covers

Spring comes to The House Of Windsor and that means we hang out all our dirty laundry for the world to see. In this case, the 'dirty laundry' mentioned is a selection of the few cover songs The Grimm Twins have worked up...usually late at night, 6 sheets to the wind, on the porch.

This collection contains our weird psychedelic take on The Partridge Family's 'I Think I Love You', our late night porch take on Nick Lowe's 'Cruel To Be Kind', a sex rock grind of Jerry Lee's 'Great Balls of Fire' and our later night version of Black Sabbath's 'NIB'.

The Last Record Party
...as the reviews roll on in...

Hartford Woman Online — It started with a post on local celeb Colin McEnroe's FaceBook page: "Online dating stories needed for Valentine's radio show. Contact me." (read the entire review)

CT Indie — This semi-acoustic indie-folk duo makes frustration, whether it is job-related, romantic, or just general life issues, seem downright sexy due to the smoky voice of chanteuse in training Carmen Champagne (wonder if that’s her real name) and the tasteful acoustic playing of her partner in crime Jason Krug...(read the entire review)

The Valley Advocate — Sometimes Internet dating can have unexpected consequences.  While most everyone has a story about finding instant chemistry with a stranger online or meeting someone they'd rather forget, not every couple decides to forego a relationship and start a band instead.Score one for the Grimm Generation.
Formed in 2010, the band features core members Jason P. Krug (acoustic guitar and vocals) and Carmen Champagne (vocals), as well as Dave Hogan (electric guitar) and Mike Mastracchio (bass). The Grimm Generation started after a chance meeting on the dating website Match.com...(read the entire review)

Hartford Courant — The Grimm Generation has never lacked for confidence: The Windsor duo talked about itself with a sense of established, playful, importance before it had done much to actually establish any, on the local scene or elsewhere. Jason P. Krug and Carmen Champagne take a big step in the right direction on "The Last Record Party," released earlier this year on Drug Reaction Records. Their first full-length builds on the tentative  promise of last year's scratchy-demo EP, "The End of the World" (reviewed here), with stronger songs and smarter arrangements featuring additional musicians...(read the entire review)

Leicester Bangs — Carmen Champagne, the beautifully named singer with The Grimm Generation could pass as a Marianne Faithful soundalike. Which is no bad thing. It’s on tracks like ‘Hovering’ where the strength of this album lies. A decent Doors / Velvets band, The Grimms write a good tune. But Champagne and co-conspirator Jason P Krug (isn’t that P so enigmatic?) really inspire when they get ...(read the entire review)

examiner.com — It’s a rarity that a heretofore unknown band from the southern region of Connecticut can make an indelible impression with their debut album. But the Windsor, CT-based band, The Grimm Generation’s The Last Record Party is truly a songwriting fête that explores the not-so-shocking underbelly of suburban sexual ennui and apocalyptical romances. As with their previous three EP’s, these latest songs are a rollicking collection of odes to illicit pleasures and bad relationships, as well as a smattering of sexual tension and seduction that borders on exploitation. And thankfully, this duo in their 40’s still has the energy to pursue these diversions.
The aptly named ingénue, Carmen Champagne (vocals), and her foil, Jason P. Krug (guitar and vocals), have created a whopping 18-track song-cycle that’s part fictional memoir and part dirty ...(read the entire revew)  — Vincent Bator
